International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN)
Save Darkness joins the global celebration of International Observe the Moon Night — a worldwide event organized by NASA to encourage observation, appreciation, and understanding of our nearest celestial neighbor. This year, we combine lunar observation with a focus on how light pollution is erasing the night sky from which we appreciate the Moon and stars.
Activities
- Public telescope observation of the Moon's craters, seas, and highlands
- Live demonstration: comparing the night sky through light pollution filters
- Screening of NASA's lunar exploration documentaries
- Children's corner with moon-themed arts, crafts, and science experiments
- Expert talks by astronomers on India's Chandrayaan missions and future lunar exploration
- Save Darkness awareness booth with information on light pollution and how to take action
This event is free and open to all. No registration required. Bring your curiosity and a sense of wonder!
